Sermon Summary
God of the Turnaround

Scripture: Luke 15:11-24

I truly believe that this is the season and junction in history when God is working in ways that are beyond our expectations. We are living in a time when people need God. In the last 2 years or so, we are stuck in our places and we could not get out. Most people were worshipping God online. Right now is the new season and I believe that God is taking us out of that and bringing us to a new level because we have come through.

There is something very important about coming through a storm in life. Storms are not meant for us to remain in them, Storms are for us to come through. There is always something better after the storm. After the storm there is hope and there is a future. I believe that God is watching over us and there is a future. Many times we need a breakthrough, we need a turnaround. We need God to turn our situation around and our circumstances around and I am sure that every one of us here today, just like the prodigal son, made mistakes in his life and I am sure that we all make mistakes in life, we make wrong choices, we have all taken a wrong turn somewhere along the path of our lives but the good news is this, even though we make mistakes, wrong or foolish choices, we can always come back to our heavenly Father. We can always come back to Him because He is faithful, He is good, He is living, and He is kind and forgiving. As long as we are willing to come back to Him, He is more than willing to accept us.

1. Get mad at where you are

The first step to any turnaround in your life today is to come to your senses, to get mad and tired at what or where you have been going. I wonder today if there is any one of us here today that you have walked away, perhaps you have made some wrong choices and you are full of condemnation, I want you to know today that you can come back, just say to yourself I am tired of this I am going home to my Father and if you do that, I am very sure God will welcome you and He will love you. You can never be in a place too far away that he would not accept you. If you come back, his arms will be open, and He will accept you.

2. If you want to see a turnaround in your life, you must recognize that your situation can turn around just like that

Your turnaround can take place just like that. The Bible says there is a great famine in Samaria. It was so bad that a donkey’s head was sold for 80 shekels of silver. They would even buy dove’s droppings for 5 shekels. God can turn things around when you don’t even expect it because a turnaround can take place just like that, in 1 day, suddenly. 2 kings 7:1 today donkey’s head 80 shekels, tomorrow, the finest flour that you can make bread will be 1 shekel. Now that is a supernatural turnaround, that is something that we cannot even perceive in our mind but this is what the Lord spoke to Elijah and 2 seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.

You know we are living in a time and season where God wants to perform supernatural miracles in our lives. The miracles in the past are nothing compared to the ones that God wants to do in time to come because God has greater plans for us. I want to tell you not to stay in that place but come out of it because God has something better for you.

In Acts 10:35, it says that God does not show favouritism but will show favour to those who love him and fear him and does what is right, that’s all God is looking for. It is not difficult to receive God’s favour. All you got to do is do what is right. Position yourself, and get ready because God is ready to perform a mighty miracle in your life.

3. Position yourself for turnaround

You know sometimes we get so overwhelmed, we try so hard, we see the situations, the circumstances, the trials, the hardship around us and we say it is impossible for us to overcome. The good news is that the battle is the Lord’s, it is not ours. He fights for us, He goes ahead of us and He fights for us, He makes the way for us and He gives us breakthroughs. That is how amazing our God is. 2 Chronicles 20:17 says you do not need to fight in this battle. You do not need to fight, all you need to do is to position, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Where are you with God today? The scriptures say to position yourself. Position yourself, stand still, don’t get moved by what is going on around you and then just see what God is going to do for you.

What are you believing God for today? What are you trusting God for today? What is the turnaround you need? It may be financial, physical your health, your family, your business, your job, whatever it is, God is able to take care of you.

AMEN.
