        Living Manna

        Sermon Summary
        Jesus’ Shocking Proclamation

        Scripture: John 8:51-59

What a blessing it is to worship the Lord on the Lord’s Day in the sanctuary again! Ever since man fell, Jesus made a shocking declaration that would shock the entire mankind. The unsolvable problem for mankind is death, death cannot be resolved by man’s power. Second unsolvable issue is sin. Sin is inseparable from the hearts and bodies of man. Death and sin are inseparable and the wages of sin is death. Third problem is judgement. It is inevitable, how wonderful it would be if we can escape judgement. Once our lives ends on this earth, we go immediately into judgement. (Hebrews 9:27)

Jesus’ shocking declaration in John 8:51 states that if anyone keeps My Word he will never see death. We should make sure we believe well. When we feel good we come to church, but when we are hurt we don’t come to church. Please don’t be like that.
Have fellowship with God first, so God will forgive my sins. Death is the unsolvable problem but Jesus said He is the solution to that problem. Jesus is life itself. He is the source of life, he governs life, the source and origin of the universe, the fact that we believe in Him is such a blessing!

The men who made the idols and believe in idols are complete fools. Jesus as a man cannot be understood by man’s minds. The Jews said He was demonic and everything He said was out of madness, the words of demons.
Jesus said, I testify the Words from the Father and you don’t receive these Words, ultimately this means you have committed the sin of killing me. Jesus was saying this to a great multitudes of people, if you believe in God, you will listen to My Words. But if you neglect My Words, that means you do not believe God. Jesus said, I am with God, people all said, oh this is a big headache, this man is blasphemous!
Dear saints, Romans 6:23 says the free gift of God is Jesus Christ. The people asked “By what authority do you come back and forth into the temple to speak?” Jesus replied “If you answer me, I will answer you too. So they answered Jesus and said, “We do not know.” And He said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. (Matthew 21:23-27)

You will not live beyond 100 years, the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. In the blink of an eye, what is perishable will become imperishable. The Word inside us will shout out “Oh Death! Where is your sting!” Death which approaches you will run back, because of the Word that shouts out at it. At that moment we will transfigure. (1 Corinthians 15:50-56)

I have no doubt in believing these Words. God will come to this earth, as He prophesied about. Luke 1, we see Simeon and Anna did not leave the temple in prayer, the Holy Spirit testified that they will see the Messiah before they died. The Holy Spirit spoke to them, “The baby whom this woman is holding is the Messiah.”
Noah’s time was not a time with great advance in science and technology, he used an axe made out of stone to build the ark along with 8 family members. On top of that they had to farm food for all the animals. Noah believed the Word of God to the point of transcending human ways, thus he and his family members were saved from the flood.

John 1:10 said the Messiah came to the people who awaited for this Messiah, but they did not believe Him! Jesus said, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and before Abraham was born, I was.” Abraham took Isaac his son born to him at 100 years old, to cut off his head at Mount Moriah. At that moment, God cried out “Abraham do not lay a hand on your lad!” Instead of Isaac, God prepared a ram that was killed, and Isaac was kept alive. We also must live with the faith of Abraham. Abraham went forth as the Word had spoken to him, because he obeyed and believed the Word. (Genesis 12:4)

God sent Jesus the Messiah to solve the problem of our sins. (2 Corinthians 12:1) We are bound to eternal damnation because of our sins, but God has abolished our sins so we can receive the blessing of eternal life. He took upon Himself all the sins and died on our behalf, when that happened, all the sins of mankind all died too, when He resurrected, He shattered the power of death, and all the problem of sin and death was abolished. (John 3:16) This is agape love, there is no calculation in agape love. When you get there to heaven, Jesus will give us an angel like a servant to us. In heaven, gold is like dirt. Everything is like diamond, there is no pain, no fear, no death.

Just as Noah found favour in the eyes of God, the members of our church will find favour too. (Psalm 31:19, 1 Peter 1:3-5, 1 Peter 1:13) We must believe God through His grace. Like in a relay race, we are the last racer who receive the last baton. Let us arrive in the kingdom of God in the end times. All the creatures, creation, and all the forefathers of faith are waiting for us, if we don’t finish it, they will not be perfected. (Hebrews 11:39-40)

We have been built on the foundation of the forefathers of faith, all the problems of death, sin committed knowingly or unknowingly; will be resolved by Jesus! We will live forever with our Father in the everlasting kingdom.

        AMEN

        Reverend Abraham Park
